Startups are mostly associated properly with small business. And this is a valid association. In many cases, small startups have turned into huge global companies, becoming leaders in their fields. Facebook

This portal was created as a startup. In 2004 it was officially launched. Originally it was designed for students as a communication platform. Nowadays, it is primarily a social networking site (gradually expanding its services, one of the latest being a marketplace – a space to sell things), used by over 2 billion people from all over the world. The number of employees exceeds 1000 people.

Uber

Initially, Uber operated exclusively in the San Francisco area. The purpose of the app is to order transportation services by matching a customer with an UBER driver using location data. Currently, the app dominates the entire world, displacing and sidelining traditional cabs. The company has around 7,000 employees.

A startup founded in Sweden in 2006. It is the market leader in music streaming. Users can listen to music on devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers and some consoles and TVs. The database of songs on Spotify exceeds 50 million. In 2020, it managed to surpass 300 million active users for the first time.

Airbnb

The startup was founded in 2008. In this case, the app is used to rent houses, apartments and rooms directly from owner-hosts. In a large number of cases, checking in, picking up the keys and paying for the stay is done online or without physical contact with the owner. It is an alternative to hotels and vacation resorts. As of today, Airbnb operates in more than 190 countries around the world.

Dropbox is an online service designed to share storage space. It is most commonly used to store backups, as well as to sync files between computers and passwords. You can store 2GB of data on the servers at no extra charge.
