American “CEOworld Magazine” has made a ranking of the most startup-friendly countries. Poland was ranked seventh on this list (six places higher than in 2018!), ahead of other European countries such as Switzerland, France and Ireland. Five factors were examined to create the ranking. These include: investment in human capital, workforce resources, infrastructure for companies and the level of research and development. The ranking itself was based on a survey of just under 195,000 opinion leaders from 96 countries. Among them, there were 50% of people with at least a high school education from the middle and upper classes, and 25% of people were business leaders. The survey group can therefore be considered authoritative. Read the article to the end to find out which countries have the best conditions for startups.

In which countries are the best conditions for startups? – Why are there good conditions for startups in Poland?
Considering that the startup phenomenon in Poland has been known for a little over 5 years, we can talk about quite a success. Even more so if it is supported by the change of the position in the ranking (in 2018 – 13th place, in 2020 – 7th place). This is due to a very large offer aimed at startup founders, such as: gas pedals, networking events, hackathons. Additionally, periodic conferences fuel the exchange of knowledge and facilitate the merging of teams. Not without significance is the rich background of talented people with heads full of ideas and specific skills.
Which regions have the best conditions for startups?
Another ranking, conducted by the Startup Genome portal, examined not the best countries, but cities/regions to launch a startup. It looked at determinants such as: activity (number of successful startups and their monetary value), funding opportunities, talent (staff education, company experience). Besides, networking (network of contacts), market penetration (global) and knowledge and infrastructure. Unfortunately, Poland did not appear in this list.
